Michael Robbins - Executive Director

Michael is a cross-sector leader, public speaker, and social entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in building successful efforts to advance ambitious public goals.

Previously, Michael served as a senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Education where he designed and led the signature initiative for the Department and the White House on community partnerships to improve schools.

He has advised and collaborated with mayors, school superintendents, community and nonprofit leaders, and corporate executives. He served as a senior leader at The SEED Foundation, FIRST, and the Shriver Center; and helped launch AmeriCorps.

Sharon Kenney - Program coordinator

Sharon Kenny is a Washington, D.C. native and graduated from The Washington Metropolitan High school as Valedictorian in 2013. She continued her education at Delaware State University where she earned a bachelors degree in History.

She was first introduced to District of Learning as an intern serving through the DC summer youth employment program. She completed a year of service with City Year and is excited to return to District of Learning. Sharon leads work on community outreach and the Youth Ambassador Initiative.

District of Learning is based at the DC nonprofit Fair Chance and is provided operational, fiscal, and administrative support by their staff members.
